What do your members really want? With rapidly changing communications technologies, it can be difficult for associations to keep up. This is where strategy is key. Developing a strategy to meet your members' communication preferences will help association

professionals manage the sometimes overwhelming task of making sure key messages are delivered effectively.

At the annual meeting of the Association Forum of Chicagoland, .orgSource President Sherry Budziak presented on the topic of communication strategy with Dawn Glossa, director of marketing and communications at the American Society of Anesthesiology. Topics included juggling Twitter, Facebook, email, web, mobile and print communications; delivering information via smart phone or tablet computer; and member complaints about too many emails. Participants learned tips on how to manage multiple communications outlets, how to pick media, and how to immediately engage members.
