Riverwoods, IL (May 3, 2010) -
Sherry Budziak, a pioneer in association web strategy who
founded the .orgSource e-communications firm, is being honored by
the Association Forum this week with its John C. Thiel
Distinguished Service Award.
Sherry's company is among the nation's leaders in providing
online strategy consulting to associations, with clients that
include the American Dietetic Association, the American Society of
Anesthesiologists, the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons
and dozens of other large and small organizations.
"Sherry has shown exemplary leadership in her work with the
association community," said Christie Tarantino, CAE, president and
CEO of the Association Forum. "She has been active in Forum
programs for many years, and her work has enhanced the online
communications of many Forum members."
Named in memory of the Forum's late chairman-elect, the Thiel
Award is presented each year to an "unsung hero" who has
demonstrated long-term, multifaceted leadership as an Association
Forum volunteer, primarily through committee service or other
contributions. The award was opened this year to include both
association professionals and supplier partners, like Sherry, who
have a business relationship with the association community.
"I am deeply honored and humbled by the Thiel Award," Sherry
says. "I am fortunate to have had such innovative and
forward-thinking clients in the Chicagoland association community,
and I look forward to working with them for years to come. It
gives me great satisfaction to help them bring the latest in online
technology and content to their members."
Sherry founded .orgSource in 2005 after working in various
association web capacities for more than a decade. She recognized -
long before many other people - that the Internet was going to
change the way associations did business, and she wanted to help
organizations be prepared for that revolution. Her reputation and
expertise have garnered her rave reviews from clients and
invitations to speak to audiences around the country and author
articles in FORUM and other publications.
